This September we’re also launching a completely FREE scriptwriting programme, led by award winning playwright and scriptwriter Hugh Dichmont.

FREE 8 Week Scriptwriting Course
Wednesdays, 6.30pm to 8.30pm
30th September to 2nd December
Across eight weeks, you’ll explore dialogue, theme, setting, structure, action, planning and redrafting, while developing your own creative voice.
By the final week, you’ll aim to have written a short script you can be proud of, with the opportunity to hear it performed script in hand by actors as part of an end of course celebration sharing.
Places on the full course are limited to 16.


About Hugh Dichmont
Hugh Dichmont is an award-winning playwright and scriptwriter whose work has been performed at theatres across the UK, including Nottingham Playhouse, Theatre503, Old Red Lion, the Pleasance and The Vaults.
He won the Bread & Roses Playwriting Award in 2019 and was a finalist for the Channel 4 New Writers Scheme in 2024. Hugh is also the founder of Script East Midlands.
